One of the eternal Apple mysteries is why Mr Jobs and Co. changed the spec on the new 3g iPhone so that older docks, speaker systems, car docks (Audi, BMW, etc), and even Apple’s own ill-fated iPod HiFi, can’t charge it!
Well, its taken 6 months, but there is now a remedy. The iPod to iPhone converter from CableJive doesn’t look much, but with some fancy-pants circuitry, solves the problem.

Just plug this into the base of your iPhone, and then plug in to any of the aforementioned docks and, “Hey Presto!”, your shiny iPhone now rejoins civilisation, and can be charged whilst pumping out the latest hits, or your favourite podcasts.
Hurrah for Cabeljive from this side of the pond! We can now rescue those old speaker systems from the attic (notice my Altec Lansing iM3c in the pic above), and once again enjoy our iPhones to the full!
