Most cases that are sent to me to review are the usual “shell like” design with protection for the back and sides, and sometimes a screen protector for the front. So, I was fascinated to receive a couple of cases from iBand. One for the 4g Nano, and one for the iPod Touch.

These cases are made to protect just the edges of your device. So, when dropped, the edging will absorb any impact and your ipod will live to play another day. The “trim” is made (now for the scientific bit) of a special compound using D30, which in its raw form is a gel. This is placed in the inside of the case. The molecules contained within it change their structure when needed, so offering maximum protection.
Fitting them on to an ipod is easy, all the cut outs for headphones etc, are precisely placed. When worn, your iPod retains its sexiness, and this sort of protection seems a great compromise for those people that don’t want to hide the beauty of their iPods. What’s also great is that, especially with the iPhone which sometimes can behave like a bar of soap when held, it provides extra grip.
