Episode 14 – The arrival of a Magic Mouse

At the end of a wet and windy week, I reflect on my Macbook having to be taken back to the Apple Store again, and the arrival of a Magic Mouse! I was also interviewed by David Allen on his Mac 20 questions podcast MAC20Q – to be broadcast in the near future.

Macally mGlide Mouse – flatter than your average mouse!

I’m trying a terrific new mouse at the moment from Macally. Its only about half an inch high but only slightly smaller in the palm than an average mouse.

It’s wireless, and its dongle is one of those very tiny ones that only sticks out about 1 cm. Ideal in fact for laptops, because you don’t have to remove it like the much larger ones. Macally has the laptop user in mind as well, as they have designed a cubby hole for the dongle in the mouse itself, when you want to pack away for storage.

The mouse feels very sturdy and well built when you hold it. The 2 mouse buttons are very responsive, and the scroll wheel, has just enough friction on it, to make reading long pages a breeze.

mglidediagramWith a colour scheme that will match all Apple machines, a great price, and fantastic usability that you would expect from any Mac related product. I think Macally are onto a winner here. For the purposes of this review I plugged the mouse into my iMac and I’m very reluctant to stop using it, and go back to my mighty mouse!

This mouse is available from all these stockists for £29.95
