This Apple iPod has been fully upgraded to 256GB SSD memory. The original 160GB hard drive that was in the iPod has been removed and replaced with SSD memory. There are many advantages to this upgrade, not just the extra memory. SSD memory has no moving parts unlike the original hard drive. It also uses less power, meaning the battery lasts longer and it makes the unit noticeable lighter.
I have used the iFlash SSD solo adapter for this upgrade and it contains 1 x 256GB SDXC Memory Card.
The only thing that limits the total number of tracks you can store is the iPod memory. These later models have 64MB and it is widely believed that around 40,000 tracks is the maximum.
